Guys it is with disbelief of what is going on. This email needs to be passed onto the CEO so that he can get to the bottom of all of this. It is laziness and incompetence. If you look at the history over the past 6 to 8 weeks of so much time in trying to stay with Vodafone has been a large journey and thank god for the staff in Tasmania, Simon the supervisor has been a tremendous help and yes i even thought of speaking to Simon again and yet i have taken up to much of his valuable time in getting things fixed. Firstly i will tell you of my franchisee in the Wollongong Alan for which he needed a prepaid sim activated for which was sold to him from crazy johns the dilemma was we could not activate via the internet and then had to waste time with an operator to find that the SIM sold was old stock and out of date. Shame on you!!! Then my franchisee was on the phone for hours in getting it fixed, then once fixed he was told that it would take up to 48 hours to go through…What!!!!Why. He is still waiting to get this done. Second problem. I have been a loyal customer of Vodafone for 2 years and i discovered that the 3G is not the best, constant dropouts, no service, even in my home situated at 5 Suvla St, Port Kembla, 2505, no signal with 3G a friend explained to me the way to make it work John is go to your network settings and choose GSM only. In which i did..WOW it worked, no more drop outs i could drive all the way to Sydney with just 1 dropout for which is in a low valley…WOW very excited of this..Great service..Therefore for 2 years i have had a great service..So yes i have heard of all of the problems that Voda is having with there customers on the 3G issue.. Yet i had it beat as i knew what to do. So i resigned and got a new headset a HTC Desire HD, very happy with it. I tested to see if the 3G had improved in my house…No better, yet i had it licked as there was the 3 settings still there within the network settings…WCDMA ONLY
    gsm ONLY
    WCDMA/gsm AUTO
i was excited i chose GSM Only and away it worked i had a reasonable service within my house.
On Wednesday night of this past week. An update came in and i accepted it and away it worked. Reset my phone and didn’t think and more of it until the next day. I had drop outs all day MMMMM i thought maybe i have to redo the settings back to GSM ONLY…..Shock Horror it was gone, the GSM Only had gone…I was dumbfounded. It now only shows the 2 options.
    WCDMA ONLY
    WCDMA/gsm AUTO.
I got onto technical support they took me to some settings and i t appears to have fixed it. Yet no the signal of the 3G is so low that it comes and goes within my house. It was’nt until Friday afternoon when i went out on the road that people started ringing me and stating all day i tried calling you and it went straight to your message bank were you on a flight or something…No sitting at my home office assuming that everything was ok. It is not ok…Now the other strange part is that my wife has the identical HTC desire HD. One she did not get the update. 2 the 3 settings are still there on her phone and set to GSM only and it works. Why was i chosen for an update and not the rest????? To this day 4 days after no update for her phone. When i got onto HTC they were surprised that there was an update and insisted on all of the software settings within my phone. They took me through a software reset and then a hardware reset. Still no GSM Only available.. Now HTC is telling me that i need to send it back for repair…MY god what is going on here…It is a programming issue the programmer has forgotten to include the GSM only setting within the Android software. Or it could be that the direction came from higher above.. I dont know and yet do not care. I had service that was working for me and now it is not and i need it fixed urgently. It has taken me many hours in taking time out to get things fixed with voda. This is that last of an unhappy event with trying to stay with voda..If you look at the history for the past 6 weeks you will hold your head down in shame of it all. Please this has to be given to the CEO so that he is able to get this fixed. I will not rest until this has been given as i am very sure he will get it fixed. I will move mountain and earth to make sure that this gets to him. he needs to know…Oh my wifes update has arrived today..More grief if we install it…John Burns CEO of Computer Support Partners and a loyal customer to VODA for the past 2 years..Have paid my bills ontime every month…Please do not allow me to go to Telstra..I hate them…
