Just a quick update for any Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 users out there, Nokia has released their software update (PR1.2) for the Nokia N8 and Nokia C7.

What does the PR1.1 and PR1.2 Nokia software update feature?

  • Three high-quality games (when upgraded via Nokia Software Updater (NSU))
    > Need for Speed Shift
    > Real Gold
    > Galaxy on Fire
  • Meeting request acceptance
  • Quick Office editor with lifetime license – Open up documents like Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Social 1.2 – Photo & video upload improvements
    > Video upload
    > Upload direfcly from gallery
  • Ovi store preloaded (no longer with launcher)
  • Maps upgrade – A better user experience with
    > Search suggestions
    > “check in”
    > Pinch zoom
    > New cleaner interface
    > Download new map regions direct to device (W/LAN)

The update fixes some bugs which has caused problems with video streaming audio and video sync on video clips with offset value. In addition, general bug fixes during boot up and email synchronising.

How do I get this?
For Nokia N8 users, the PR1.2 software update will be available via Nokia Software Updater web update and via FOTA (Firmware Over The Air).

Or you can check for updates on your phone by following these steps
Menu > Applications > SW update

For Nokia C7 users, the firmware update can ONLY be downloaded through Nokia’s Device Software Update site

    Hello I have a c7 with 1.1 I tried to update but it says 1.1 is the latest version should it be 1.2?

        It says 13.016 is the latesy version and thats the version on my phone but my phone so it cannot up date, I got the phone from voda about 2 months ago. 13.016 is release 1.1 when i check my phone version.

    I have a vodafone australia branded c7 running 1.01, how can i get 1.1 or 1.2? I tried OTA (which i used originally to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.01) and ovi suite, but neither is working for me?

      If your having difficulty with the update, take it into one of our Vodafone stores so we can send it over to our repair centre to look at

        Thanks for the reply. I went into the store and they went to “nokia australia can i update” on the Nokia website and it reported that I am on the latest version for this product code. My product code is 059F2F4 running PR1.01 (012.004).

        Do you have any idea if Vodafone are going to approve PR1.1 or PR1.2 for my Nokia C7? (It is Vodafone branded – and obtained from Vodafone on a $65 unlimited plan.)

    Just to add – incase anyone is looking here about Nokia C7 update. I managed to speak to someone at Vodafone. They informed me that the update is not currently available for the Nokia C7 in Australia. The update will be by July 15th. (Lets hope that happens, cuz the current version PR1.01 has some serious email IMAP bugs which are corrected on the newer version.)

    Still no sign of any update.. so much for 15th July as customer support told me… please Vodafone RELEASE PR1.1 or 1.2 on all Nokia C7 models!!!! Nokia released this ages ago !

    Arrrrgh. I’ve already been through this with Nokia and Vodaphone. I’m on PR1.1 (013.0160) and the latest software (014.002) does not show up either when trying to install via phone or Ovi Suite.
