Recharging with Vodafone Prepaid

UPDATE: Friday, 18 February 2011, 11:50AM AEDST:

Hi everyone,

Our prepaid recharge system is back up. You should now be able to top up your service. An SMS will go out to people that tried to unsuccessfully recharge yesterday which will notify you that you can now recharge and have your credit applied to your account.

Call 1511 and follow the instructions to recharge your prepaid credit.

The free standard national voice calls and SMS will still be in place until 1pm AEDST today to help stay in touch and continue to make calls and texts while we clear the backlog of people wanting to recharge their prepaid service.

Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Regards
Cormac Hodgkinson
Director of Customer Service and Experience

UPDATE: Thursday, 17 February 2011, 19:24pm AEDST:

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update, prepaid customers with no credit can now send standard national SMS on top of making free standard national voice calls whilst we are fixing the recharge service.

We’ll let you know as soon as the recharge system is back up and running again.

Regards,
Cormac Hodgkinson
Director of Customer Service and Experience

UPDATE: Thursday, 17 February 2011, 16:15pm AEDST:

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know our prepaid recharge systems are still down, but in the meantime if you run out of credit we’ll make all your national standard voice calls free.

SMS is currently unavailable, but we’re working hard to make SMS also available, and we’ll let you know as soon as they are operational again and you need to recharge.

We know you rely on our service and we want to ensure we can keep you in touch with your family and friends. The calls will remain uncharged for those who run out of credit until we get our system back up and running.

Sorry for any inconvenience and we’ll keep you updated when more information comes to hand.

Regards,
Cormac Hodgkinson
Director of Customer Service and Experience

Thursday, 17 February 2011, 10:30am AEDST:

We are currently experiencing a problem with the technology that allows our prepaid customers to apply recharge credit to their account. Prepaid customers with existing credit are able to make and receive calls as normal, however, the fault is preventing our customer service staff in-store and within our contact centre from manually applying prepaid recharge credit to our customers’ accounts. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible and we will let you know as soon as this issue is resolved, and new prepaid credit can be applied to your account. We apologise for the current inconvenience.

Gobal recesstion was brought on by GLOBAL GREED!!!
CEOs paying themselves larger and larger “bonus” pay. Then company gose bust and they blame it on low profit.
If company has low profit why are CEOs giving themselves larger “Bonus” pays. They just bleed company dry and sailed off on thier majour yachts with millions and copmay whent bust because of low profit yeh right!!!!
Vodfone going the same way? I think so!Yes money is getting spent upgrading services and towers. SO THEY CAN SELL THE COMPANY!!! AFTER THEY GIVE THEMSELVES HUGE “BONUS” PAYS.
Do people remember news papers telling how much CEOs gave themsleves in “bonus”. Where are the finacial records of Vodafone CEOs pay???
Egypt people had enough and look what they achieved!!!
WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH FOR US? I think we have had enough!!!!!!

When is the nature of the problem and approximately when will it be fixed? Your operator tried to recharge 2 hours ago my mobile nearly 2 hours ago. If this is going to be an all day problem we customers should be told.

The fact that Vodafone operators were happy to take peoples money this morning when it was known there was a problem coupled with the fact that no information about the fault, or when it may be fixed by, is not good enough. I urge everyone affected to contact the Telecommunications Omsbudman and make a complaint especially if the problem has cost you.

I have been trying to recharge my account since 6:50am this morning, that is seriously beyond a joke. Vodafone keep saying that they are going to provide an update on their technical difficulties – it doesn’t say much for Vodafone when some 7 hours later they still don’t know what is going on! I tried to call the customer service line, and was advised that it would be at least 40 minutes to speak with someone other then a voice over – not only is the technical support shotty, the customer service sucks! Is it ridiculous to think that Vodafone are going to offer some kind of compensation for this mess – YES, it is ridiculous! The ‘customer service’ blog respondent can’t even bring themselves to apologise in their response! Good work Vodafone, good to see you are on top of things…

Have always been more than happy with Vodafone until now, the corporate speak ‘restore services as quickly as possible’ is poor information dissemination and a 40 minute wait for assistance on 1555 is extremely poor service.
Information required on the site What time the problem occurred and when (couple of hours, many hours, day or days) it is expected to be fixed. Deal with me honestly and will thank you for it, give me a corporate snow job and I will move on

I’m sure they are fixing the problem as fast as they can, so how about everyone stops asking pointless questions and actually listens to what they are beibg told.

And as for those who are threatening to change networks.. go ahead! I’m sure it would take you a hell of a lot more stuffing around and waste even more of your time trying to find a better campany than Vodafone.

Now let’s all take a deep breath and get on with our day – Mobile phones weren’t even a part of life a few years ago.. it’s really not the end of the world people!

We were told yesterday that the service will be restored by 8am, the 18th of Feb. There should have been an update at least by 8 am. There are no temporary measures in place for mobile broadband users. I rely on this for telecommuting in my position as an IT consultant. Its simply frustrating. The Vodafone network has been plagued with continuing problems for several months. But this has to be the tip of the iceberg. I will be transferring to another provider as most other customers will no doubt be doing.

Why does it usually take so long to get hold of Vodafone Customer Service.

I really do tire of the 20, 30, 40 min waits since becoming a Vodafone client a few years ago.

The last time I called (I was double charged. Thanks Vodafone), about 2 months ago, the wait to speak to Customer Service was MORE THAN AN HOUR.

What type of “Customer Service” is it to, firstly, double charge, and then to make it far worse by forcing 30, 40, 50 60 mins wait to speak to Customer Service to fix it?

The fact is that Vodafone holds it clients in contempt. Obviously its NOT INTERESTED in small-time clients, perhaps going after business clients instead.

I’d urge everybody here to follow my lead and join the lawsuit against Vodafone. Alteratively, shop around.

Vodafone simply does not care about you, and are not afraid to show it.

I am a 3 customer, and my son is a Vodafone customer. Both of us being long term and loyal customers of each netwok. My question: since 3 and Vodafone appear, now. to be the same organistion, I would like to know if it is possible for me to recharge my son’s Vodafone account using the 3 recharge facilities I am able to access?
My son has recently joined the Australian Regular Army (ARA) and is currently training at the Recruit Traing Centre (RTC) nerar Wagga Wagga. Understandably, he has limited (READ: none!) acess to facilities to be able to recharge his phone credit.

Is it possible for me to transfer, recharge in his name, or otherwise, through my 3 account to give him credit so he can call home, his mates, as well as banking etc?

If so, then could someone (preferrably associated with either 3 or Vodafone) though not necessary let me know how to do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

    Kind regards
