Samsung GALAXY W – Android 2.3.6 Update

From 1:00pm, 9th August 2012 – Samsung will begin rolling out the Android 2.3.6 “Value Pack” update for GALAXY W handsets sold by Vodafone in Australia.

The update is released in a staggered process, which means not everybody can update at the same time.

This is a point release and is designed to address some small bugs and introduce minor features. Your day to day experience with your device will broadly remain the same.

For handsets sold by Vodafone, the update is available either via Firmware over-the-air (FOTA) or by synchronising with Samsung Kies.

    Did the upgrade last Thursday 9/8 via FOTA and it went smoothly with no lost data etc. However do not appear to have received the stated “Face Unlock’ feature, or the “font size and layout refresh”. Anyone else experience this?
