Top 5 smartphones for Facebook fanatics

Enjoy Facebook while sunbathing, cooking a barbeque or simply out shopping with these five smartphones.

Each promise to keep you entertained and connected with all the best features that Facebook has to offer.

Apple® iPhone® 4

The Apple® iPhone® 4 is the closest you can get to the full Facebook experience without accessing the site from the laptop or PC.

Colourful icons make it extremely simple to jump between your Facebook News Feed, Profile, Friends and various other features, while the touch-sensitive screen helps you write private messages and chat online directly from the phone.

The Apple® iPhone® 4’s high-resolution “Retina Display” means Facebook photo albums always look their best on the smartphone – letting you effortlessly flick between images with the swipe of a finger.

HTC ChaCha

The HTC ChaCha is the ultimate mobile phone for Facebook fanatics, having been designed specifically with the website in mind.

It takes the hassle out of sharing posts and photos on Facebook with its unique Facebook button, which lets you upload just about anything to the site in a single click.

Imagine you’ve just taken a picture of your friends. Simply press HTC ChaCha’s Facebook button and the image will appear almost instantly on your Facebook wall.

The HTC ChaCha’s physical keypad and Facebook chat widget also make the smartphone ideal for nattering online, helping you switch between private conversations or group online friends together into one big Facebook chat session.

HTC Salsa

As one of the first phones to feature a Facebook button for direct Facebook access, the HTC Salsa pretty much allows you to share anything with your friends literally at the push of a button.

With rapid access to Facebook, you can keep in touch with your friends anytime without skipping a beat. It comes equipped with a modest 5MP camera to take pictures and video to show off to your friends.

Being a smartphone that runs on Google’s Android OS, you gain access to services such as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, and many others.

Though the phone’s internal storage stands at only 512 MB, you can expand upon it with microSD / TransFlash cards, allowing better storage for your music, photos, and videos.

Nexus S

Sporting a 4’’ touch-screen, the Nexus S boasts a decent screen size, giving you excellent screen space to not only enjoy your favourite Facebook stops, but also web browsing and video watching.

Since it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, you also get access to over 150,000 Android apps to enhance and streamline your Facebook experience as well.

This phone also comes with a front and rear camera, giving you many handy features. With the rear 5MP camera, you can take pictures and record video and post them on Facebook or Youtube for your friends to see. With the front camera, you can converse with your friends over video chat.

The Nexus S features AMOLED screen technology that allows you to clearly view the phone’s screen even out in the sun – definitely a plus if you find yourself needing to view the screen out in the bright sun. This slightly curved screen adds increased comfort in your hand and along your face as well.

Samsung Galaxy S II

Need a phone that packs the muscle to give an ‘umph’ to your Facebook experience?
Armed to the teeth with the latest hardware, the Samsung Galaxy S II ensures a smooth browsing experience viewing Facebook photos, videos, and music.

Like the Nexus S, the Galaxy S II also has an AMOLED screen, giving it clarity in broad daylight. Vibrant colors seemingly pop out of the screen and the screen’s luster never fades even if you tilt the phone in different angles.

The Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone comes equipped with an impressive 8MP camera, allowing you to take high quality pictures to capture those precious moments. It can also take 1080p quality video as well. If that weren’t enough, you also have a front 2MP camera included for video chat.

Expandable memory means you can add more memory storage on top of the phone’s already impressive internal memory of 16GB or 32GB depending on what you choose.

Cool well, that’s our pick, what’s yours?

    You’re kidding right?
The windows phone has been dubbed by many as “The facebook phone”. EVERYBODY who has used one has said the Facebook integration is second to none (And the mango will make it even better). And you don’t even mention it? Come on! I’m really sick of vodafone not even trying to do anything with the windows phone.

First, it fills in on extra details on your phone contacts – don’t know someone’s email? Well the windows phone automatically checks Facebook to see if they’ve exposed it to you and adds it. And it does this for a bunch of data – email, phone numbers, addresses, pictures, birthdays, significant others.
From a person contact swipe across and you’ve got their recent activity right there (and you can interact with it right there), integrated into your phone!

Pictures from facebook are in your phone’s Picture hub – treated as first class citizens, not having to open up an app to see it.

And for those more specific actions, yes, it’s got a dedicated facebook app, which can do pretty much everything the android and iPhone apps do.

And in Mango – Facebook chat is a first class citizen – it’s treated equally to sms. Facebook events are added automatically to your calendar – you can even RSVP right there, no need to go open an app.

Seriously, stupid articles like this show how ill informed Vodafone staff are. If you just took a bit of time to actually promote windows phone you would be ahead of the curve, but instead you’re going to play catch up with it.

Chris it’s called sync. my galaxy does that. in my contacts it provides me with mobile home and facebook, windows live gmail any mail including up to date history from the user. it’s nothing new on windows ive had that on my android for some time now sir. i even have full information on facebook contacts that i never added to my contact list/ so basically it’s all done for me with ease. location email numbers nicknames and history and resent post’s from that person. birthdays are automatically added to my calender. their pictures are uploaded, almost everything they know i know in the phone before i go into any social media places. on my phone it’s called social hub. and it runs into the phone contacts calender etc. people or vodafone are not being silly. they simply are going on what you have stated which is something they have used already for sometime. and picked the most popular phones people use. I’m sorry theres just nothing new there.

Darrell, I don’t deny Android has those features – although windows phone announced them first. And yes, they do it for gmail, hotmail and all that too. But every reviewer has said there is no comparison – the Facebook integration in the windows phone is undeniably better.

And for your “and picked the most popular phones people use”
That’s not what this article was meant to be about, it was meant to be which phones offer the best Facebook experience.

Sticking an ugly physical Facebook button onto phones shows the lack of integration inside the OS with Facebook. With windows phone the feature is tightly integrated as part of its design.

Chris. i Had some if not most of the similar features on my SGS. the SGSII went into hyper drive intergrading these social networks with the phone. I’ve seen the video (long one) and I’m not sure i find that ease of use. i have always been a nokia man as far back as my 5110 (still have it). but i lost interest with nokia and their OS system. and windows phones until now were always below par. but i still watch that review and still find it harder to understand and use than what i currently have. I’ve got a large or small facebook widget that i use to view current activities etc, or post my activity’s. but i can also use the social hub which even has Microsoft active sync. it’s got about 3-4 i dont use. but if needed its all in one section. likewise the integration into the phonebook. their not just popular they are easy to use for anyone including the novice. adn i think that was what i got from it, it’s complicated, and what might seem boring over that is just something that’s easy to use.

And i know what you mean, i just spotted that blue button on the bottom of a phone and laughed at it.
