The data allowances are pretty average… considering when 4G kicks in I’ll have a measly 1GB to play with on a $60 plan.

LOWER pixels-per-inch (PPI) on the display, SMALLER display, WORSE battery life, mediocre camera specs, SLOWER display refresh-rate. And you CANT wear gloves while using it……………..#EPIC FAIL of 2012….better bring NOKIA LUMIA 920

Voda has decently priced plans, however the decreeased data from the 2 year old plans is a joke and im still not convinced about the network, as a 3 customer since ive been forced onto Voda last month, the internet is just rubbish, I can have 5 bars and streaming (you tube) stops constantly

It’s clear you don’t like the iPhone 5 & that’s ok, all entitled to our own comments but seriously there are a lot of good changes made regarding the iPhone 5. The iphone 5 does not have a s,aller display. It does have a better battery life, i think you may have been given the wrong info. I hope you find happiness Sohel, many people will here once they get the new iPhone 5! I sure will be stocked to get mine! The wait has been worth it! AND…ive already got a case for it! Just released, $25 from the markets! Bargain! Cannot wait!

Why would you need to wear gloves with an iPhone when it’s clearly a “touch” screen? I wear gloves too but I still take them off & it doesn’t worry me the slightest in doing so. Maybe the big chunky buttons on a mobile would suit you better for this reason. Just saying.

Why on earth would you want to wear gloves whilst using it ?? that would mean once you place it in your pocket my leg would start pressing all sorts of buttons …………

    Hi Andrew,

It seems that the only comments which are answered here are the ones which are posted just before you come online.

Could you please clarify or provide a link for 12 months plan as well.

As a Vodafone customer I would like to register my dissatisfaction on the meagre data being given with these plans which we can see so far. Please have at least 1GB for plans over $50. I know we are putting up with 3G and 3G+ whereas other mobile operators are offering lightening fast 4G. So Vodafone should be considerate and offer us value for money in terms of Data packages and lower handset repayments.

At this stage I will wait and watch for Optus and Virgin to release their plans and see if they meet the Vodafone plans.

    Cheers

    Hi just a few questions

Can I get the $80 infinite plan for a higher gigabit than 16?

Will its have 4G LTE? If not how long until its up?

I think I still have 5 weeks on my contract but been a loyal customer for 5 years is there a way to upgrade still?

Presumably the handset cost is partly recovered in the Plan cost. The additional handset cost therefore reflects the extra cost of an iPhone compared to other brands. The reason for different handset costs between Plans reflects the different level of handset cost recovery levels – more of the hanset cost is embedded in the higher Plans than the lower. If you deduct the retail cost of the handset ($799, $899, $999, as per Apple website) you can see the cost of the service component is about equal for each iPhone model on any given Plan. Although not quite equal… Assuming Vodafone get the iPhones from Apple at wholesale, say 70% of retail, then it looks like they are making lower margin on entry level 16GB and higher on 64GB

It’ll be like any other Vodafone mobile. So you’ll find it’ll be locked to Vodafone. To get it unlocked will cost extra & it’ll also void your warranty with Vodafone. I’d get it unlocked after contract expires if you’re looking at doing it. Only saying this from past experience.

Pretty sure the iPhone 5 is only available to those who are existing but upgrading (end of contract) or for new customers. I did read that somewhere on Vodafone’s website about the iPhone 5. But if I were you, I’d call the 1555 number or visit a Vodafone store & enquire as there may be another way, like paying out your existing contract to get the iPhone 5, which in most cases people can’t afford (given that they’ve upgraded early this yr/into the first few mths of their contract). Can’t see any other way around it really.

Bit of a bugger, made my pre-order of the iPhone 5 in 64GB in black, & they told me it was only available in white. I did say it was a shame as i preferrd black, so if it did come in black I’d prefer that but I guess I’ll have to accept white if that is the only color it comes in. I take a wander through the website today & they have black for the 64GB. I ring 1555 just to double check the order number & see if my order can be changed to black (since the order was only made 24hrs ago) but the answer was a flat out “no, white is what we are sending you and therefore the order cannot be changed”. Such a shame tho, but I guess once a cover is put on, you won’t see the color. I just prefer black, always had black. Just a shame that this web info has come a day late. Still, won’t change me going elsewhere, happy to stay with Vodafone for another 2yrs. Come to think of it, I can’t even remember when I started up with Vodafone! Just wished I could change to the black. *heavy sighs* oh well, I’ll still be able to sleep ok, not the end of the world. :-/

Black is certainly available, and our help and support team will be able to look in to this and see if there are any options available for you. So they can look in to this, please post on our Vodafone Community.

I did the same thing when i enquired about changing the colour as its now abailable in black, 24hrs after i pre-ordered. So the number you were given is only the order number for dispatch. I enquired about this as well. Once it’s been dispatched & in the hands of the courier, they then issue a tracking order of which you can then track online. From what I was told, this tracking number is either emailed or sent as a text or both if you have both enabled. Hope it helps.

And adding to that, they would have it dispatched/sent out from the 21st Sept onwards, being the release date of the iPhone 5. It won’t be sent or released any earlier. iPhone 5 is also available in Vodafone stores from the 21st Sept as well. I could have gone into a store & got it then but all my upgrades have been over the phone so I don’t mind to wait. To know its coming to me is good enough! Happy V’fone customer here! Have been for ages. So a big thanks once again to V’fone! (*gives 2 big thumbs up!*)

Mine only went up by $1 but everything else stayed the same on my top infinite plan I normally have. Doesn’t faze me up by $1. Things usually go up anyways, food, fuel etc. They gotta have a price rise every so often as well. And 4G comes early next year so it’s not really that far away. I’m ok with it all. My reception is pretty good as it is now.

Neither Vodafone support 4G network nor 3G is impressive. Vodafone, however, is pricing equal to Optus network….. And also they have reduced the credit and data that they used to offer. If you want to just buy more data, do 1GB it’ll be $10 per mth. Check out the pricing guide & click on “more data” it’ll show you there…http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/plans/pricingplans

Once you receive it, you’ll need to ring V’fone to activate it. I’d then connect to iTunes to get your contacts, music etc back. Make sure you update current iPhone before you do this otherwise you’ll loose stuff. If you’re not sure, when you ring to activate it, ask V’fone about it but that’s pretty much it, in a nut shell.

And once you’ve ported across, backed up your old stuff, & put that onto the iPhone 5, I’d turn it off wait a min or 2 & switch back on. It refreshes it, kinda like a kick start. But I’m pretty sure it’ll do this once you go thru the steps.

You can only go in on the day (21st Sept) to get it on the day, like a first in first served. Don’t think there’s a system in place to order & then pick up. Too many people could just change their mind & not turn up, or just not turn up etc. Once it’s gone thru the delivery process, it can’t be changed.

Hi there, I noticed someone else asked if they could keep their existing plan and upgrade to the iPhone 5. The link didn’t appear to answer that question at all. I’m at the end of a two year contract with vodafone and looking to sign up for another 2 years choosing this device as my new handset. I have called customer service to be told that I would have to pay $10/ month for the iphone5 on top of my existing plan. I’m already paying $60 and feel the extra $10 is a bit much considering I have seen my entire 2 year contract through. With vodafone’s delay on 4g I thought you would be happy to perpetuate my business. Considering also as a family we all use the same mobile provider I would be the first to leave with more to follow.
Perhaps this could be given some more consideration?

Thanks for the comment, given the over whelming pre-orders with our customers, I can not guarantee stock will be available in all stores.

If you want, you can find out where your nearest Vodafone selected store is and try your luck over there.

So here’s my issue… 21/9 iphone 5 released and I’m sent a msg to say it left the warehouse – YAY!! Delivery due 24/9. Monday comes and goes, so I track it online – its in Sydney being processed but it is overnight delivery so yeah, I can wait until Tues… Tuesday comes and goes, website says still in Sydney, hmm thats pretty average. Call up today, on hold with Star Track Express (they need to drop the “express” bit from their name thats false advertising surely) for 22mins, get told that its now “late freight” WTF!! Kinda defeats the purpose of overnight mail. Now I have an ETA of Friday 28th!

Vodafone I realise this is not your fault, but I do suggest you think again about who you use for delivery and in advertising the release of phones do not encourage people to order on-line in order to get priority as there are things that are out of your control.

No doubt Vodafone will be able to seek some recourse from the delivery contractor – as if you paid for overnight dlivery you expect some sort of guarantee. The question is as the end consumer, do I just get stuffed around, or what compensation should be expecting?

      Hey Syed,

At this stage we do not have a plan or pack that includes infinite Skype & YouTube access.

How much Skype & YouTube do you currently use? You can Click Here to check our Data Calculator and choose the best plan to shoot your needs.

If you do use quite a bit of Facebook we have a great option to include Infinite Social Networking through one of our Infinite Add-On’s located Here.

If you have any questions about upgrading your service please do not hesitate contacting our team on the Vodafone Community for further information.

      Have a lovely day

      Hi Ayush,

We can generally always offer an upgrade however as your current plan and iPhone 4S are so recent it would cost considerably more than what you’re currently paying. There would be two options. The first would be to add a mobile payment plan for the iPhone 5. If you’re currently paying a handset instalment on the iPhone 4S this would need to be paid out then an iPhone 5 could be added for $32 for a 16GB, $37 for a 32GB or $42 for a 64GB per month over 24 months. The other option would be to pay out the remaining instalments of your whole plan and start from scratch with new plan and discounted handset. As you’re only 3 months into contract, I’d imagine the first option would be the most cost effective.

If you’d like some further information on this feel free to call our upgrades team on 1555 or come see us on our Community. See below:

      Hi Hmmmm,

The unlimited social networking isn’t a feature that is currently offered on our new plans. If you’re also using new device, this may impact the way you access data too. Is social networking your main use of the Internet on your phone? If you need a little more data to get you through the month we do offer a great range of causal and contracted Data Add Ons which you can view here: http://www.vodafone.com.au/personal/mobile-internet/on-your-phone/plans These start from as little as $5 a month.
